Screen Printing

Rich, long-lasting and precise - the most proven printing method for large quantities and strong colours on all types of textiles.

ADVANTAGES
✔️ Brilliant colours with high opacity & luminosity
✔️ Ideal for quantities of 20 pieces or more - the more, the more economical
✔️ Wash-resistant, durable and suitable for all common textiles

TO BE NOTED
ⓘ A separate screen is required for each colour
ⓘ Colour gradients and photo prints can only be implemented to a limited extent

DTG Printing (Direct to Garment)

Rich in detail, colorful, and flexible – digital direct printing for complex designs, photo quality, and small print runs.

ADVANTAGES
✔️ Full-color designs & gradients at no extra cost
✔️ Economical even for a single piece – ideal for small quantities and prototypes
✔️ Precise detail reproduction, even for fine lines and complex graphics

PLEASE NOTE
ⓘ Best results on light-colored, 100% cotton textiles
ⓘ Pre-treatment of the textile is necessary for dark-colored items

Transfer Printing

Fast, versatile and with strong motifs — the flexible printing solution for complex designs on a wide variety of textiles and materials.

ADVANTAGES
✔️ Suitable for almost all types of textiles – including polyester and blended fabrics
✔️ Fast production, ideal for urgent orders and events
✔️ Detailed motifs in photo quality can be implemented without problems

TO CONSIDER
ⓘ Less wash-resistant than screen printing with intensive use
ⓘ For heavily used workwear, we recommend screen printing or embroidery

Flex Printing

Robust, elastic, and precise — the durable printing method for sportswear, workwear, and all textiles that need to withstand a lot in everyday life.

ADVANTAGES
✔️ Highly elastic & washable – ideal for high-movement clothing
✔️ Opaque, rich colors even on dark textiles
✔️ Suitable for single-color logos, lettering, and clear contours

PLEASE NOTE
ⓘ Not suitable for fine details and complex multi-color designs
ⓘ For large-area prints, the feel may be stiffer

Flock print

Velvety, tactile, and distinctive — flock printing gives textiles a unique surface that can be seen and felt.

ADVANTAGES
✔️ Elegant velvet look for high-quality merchandise and premium collections
✔️ Strong tactile feel that makes brands and designs tangible
✔️ Particularly effective on dark textiles and streetwear

PLEASE NOTE
ⓘ Suitable only for single-color, high-contrast designs
ⓘ More sensitive with intensive use – follow care instructions

Sublimation Printing

Full-surface, vibrant, and durable – the printing method for technical sportswear, outdoor textiles, and designs without limits.

ADVANTAGES
✔️ Full-surface motifs in photo quality – no restrictions on colors or gradients
✔️ Print becomes part of the fabric – no layer on the textile, no cracking
✔️ Ideal for polyester textiles, sportswear, and technical functional goods

TO NOTE
ⓘ Only suitable for light polyester or polyester blends
ⓘ Not compatible with pure cotton textiles

Frequently asked questions about materials, standards, and sustainability.

FAQ

General

Certification & Standards

From what quantity is screen printing cost-effective?

Screen printing is cost-effective for quantities of around 20–30 items. For smaller quantities, we recommend DTG printing – we are happy to advise you on the best solution.

Can I have multi-colored logos printed?

Yes. Depending on the printing process, full-color designs are possible. We will coordinate the technique and design in advance.

How long will the print last?

With proper care, our prints are wash-resistant for years. We provide you with care instructions for maximum durability.

What file formats are needed?

Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) are ideal. Pixel graphics are possible if the resolution is sufficient – we will check this for you.

Do you also support with sustainability communication?

Yes. We help categorize material decisions and standards in such a way that statements are communicated comprehensibly, credibly, and without exaggeration.

What do certifications actually mean?

Certifications make certain standards transparent, for example, regarding materials or production conditions. However, it is always important to understand what a certification specifically covers – and what it does not.

Does every project require certified materials?

Not necessarily. What matters are the requirements a project meets, the target audience it addresses, and the internal or external standards that are important.

How do you avoid greenwashing?

By not working with blanket promises, but instead concretely classifying materials, evidence, and project goals and communicating them transparently.

Sustainability in Textile Printing

Sustainable printing techniques combine optimum quality with resource-saving production, ensuring the best possible compatibility for people and nature.
Precise work and high opacity of the colours ensure the longevity of the prints. Efficient resource utilisation is achieved by working in a water, ink, and space-saving manner. State-of-the-art machines and automatic processes also ensure lower energy consumption. Reusable materials are used in the production of the printing equipment.
By choosing water-based screen printing inks without chemical additives (no plastisol inks), environmentally harmful waste products in wastewater are avoided and the health of the wearer's skin is protected. This makes sustainable prints harmless to people and the environment.

Ecologically certified working conditions and fair pay are just as important to us as the sustainability of the products.
Embroidery is considered to be arguably the most environmentally friendly, durable and skin-friendly way to achieve your design.

Screen printing at GREEN SHIRTRS

Textile screen printing is the most common method for printing textiles. From simple full-color prints to raster, effect, and reflective prints, and even glow-in-the-dark prints, textile screen printing offers a wide range of possibilities. The price-performance ratio is particularly noteworthy here, as the print is extremely durable yet cost-effective, especially for larger quantities.

Sustainability in screen printing:
+ very durable & high quality
+ non-toxic to humans and the environment
+ water-based screen printing inks without chemical additives possible, otherwise PVC-free plastisol inks
+ durable and resource-saving (aluminum) screen printing frames
+ resource-saving through stencil carriers and reusable
+ SEFAR PCF fabric (pre-coated-fabric) = more cost-effective, resource-saving (no chemicals, thus eliminating extra steps and equipment while maintaining better consistent quality)

Textile Printing for Businesses – What You Should Know

Sustainable textile printing is more than an ecological decision – it is a mark of quality. Companies that have textiles refined with their branding benefit from long-lasting prints that convey messages durably and are gentle on people and the environment.

Which printing process is the right one?

The choice depends on the design, quantity, and budget. Screen printing is ideal for large print runs, DTG for as few as one piece. Flex printing for sportswear, sublimation for full-surface designs on polyester – we advise you on the best solution.

Textile Printing & Certifications

The decisive factors are inks, textile substrate, and production conditions. At GREEN SHIRTS, we exclusively use OEKO-TEX®-tested inks and certified organic or fair-trade textiles – for transparent communication with your stakeholders.
